Send money to Spain for £3.00

I have just discovered that certain Tesco stores are allowing customers to send £750 or less to their Spanish bank account for a fee of £3.00.
Their exchange rate seems to be very good on their website, but I do not know when it was last updated. Today 12/3/10 it is showing 1.12E to the £. (When Visa corporate are showing 1.09 to the £). Which is very good!

It sounds good, I have just checked the site, temp unavailable.

I check the company we deal with they are fee transfer at rate of 1.1004 so not a bad deal fom Tesco if there is one locally so you can go in and arrange it, the closest for me is 17 miles away.

Hi Folks;
I,m sure lots of people know this already,but if you have a Halifax account in the u.k. and a Halifax Espana account then all transfers are free,probably other banks do the same.I do this free transfer every monday,as i get my pension payed into my u.k. Halifax,on a weekly basis.

Another alternative is Paypal

Set up one email address with your UK account and one with your Spanish account (register with Paypal.es) and transfer money that way or work for a bank like me and get it for free

There seems to be some confusion regarding Tesco sending money to Spain.
It is not an online service, you have to go to one of the participating stores. See the link.

Hi all,

The Company I use will transfer £250 and over for free, we have a standing order to them and it is all done automatically, I get an email at every step of the transaction, so when they receive the money, the rate they are giving and when it has been sent, in 3 years, not had a problem.
