BIG restaurant rumoured to be a new Witchery

I saw from afar that the wornderful Doric (or are they Greek) columns had been erected either side of the door of the unit being completed near the garden centre at the La Finca commercial area and that a sign was in the window. Expecting to see an 'Opening May / June the ...' message, I decided to investigate only to find a 'For Rent' sign up there.

Has / is this venture going / gone the same way as the 'Work Buffet' (sic) that was supposed to appear, the unit had all the steelwork done then nothing. Anyone got any insight as to why restaurants and La Finca commercial centre seem to have such a poor relationship?

John has spoken to the contractor this morning who is completing the fitment of the restaurant. The contractor has almost completed as far as he can go and is awaiting the materials to finish off the bars (two). The owner is confident that he will open the Witchery on schedule in June.

The contractor also confirmed that all the necessary licenses are in place so there should be no hold up.

We're really looking forward to this opening - John's friend (the contractor) has promised to keep us informed of the opening date and for sure this forum will be the first to know.

Thanks Jennifer - looking forward to seeing this place open as it seems to have had no expense spared in the decor. Much as I like Baybrooks, it will be nice to have an alternative.

And with two bars, we're looking at a serious possibility of a pub crawl at La Finca....!!!
