In 1828 the monarch Alfonso II, granted a privilege to the Valencian people. This involved allocating the smaller district to rural estate owners in order for them to construct at least 15 homes on the ground for a number of families to be housed there.

Nowadays, Algorfa enjoys a continuously growing population in social, touristic and economic aspects. The number of inhabitants has increased considerably in the past years, including citizens from many European countries who enjoy this pleasant environment.
